The Dance

GAC did a top 50 videos of the 90's countdown.  It was very entertaining!  It was a reminder that MTV only started back in 1981 and still were not perfected by the 90's....not to mention lots of really lame talking during videos (Reba), mullets (Alan, Toby, Tim), high wasted jeans (Shania), etc!  The number one video of that decade was Garth Brooks' The Dance.  It was actually a pretty good video that delivers a strong message: the journey is more important than the destination.  Our experiences mold us into the people we are today which is why I don't believe in regrets.  This song makes me happy and sad all at the same time.

Garth Brooks - The Dance

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars alone
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey, who's to say you know I might have chanced it all

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Yes, my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
